Classes - Yoga at the Raven
Our classes include Basics, Restorative, Mixed Levels and an advanced Practice Lab. We also offer a $5 class twice a week.
This class introduces fundamental postures to our new yoga students and challenges experienced practitioners to take time to refine their poses. The teacher will break down the postures and alignment cues to ensure you are moving safely in and out of each pose, and offer variations to suit a variety of levels in this class.
Mixed Levels (60 min/75 min/90 min)
This class invites you to gracefully play at your edge and may include backbends, arm balances, hip openers and inversions. This class is more advanced than Basics, but welcomes students of varying experience and offers modifications and variations.
The Practice Lab
In The Practice Lab, the teacher practices alongside the class, giving the student room for discovery, play, and a new way to experience their yoga practice. In this class, we will dive deep into biomechanics in order to create strategies and solutions to access more advanced poses. Recommended for experienced students who have a strong foundation, and a willingness to explore and play.
Flow through basic standing poses utilizing alignment while focusing on deepening core strength and endurance. Learning to tap into these deep core muscles will not only improve, strengthen & transform your practice, but will allow you to step deeper into the seat of your own personal power. Suitable for all levels.
Through a series of postures, poses, and movements, Foundation Training activates your posterior muscle chain, anchors the hips, decompresses the spine, and teaches you to take the burden of supporting the body out of your joints and put it where it belongs: in your muscles. No matter your age or your fitness level, Foundation Training puts you on the path to wellness. Simply by changing how you move in daily life you can dramatically change how you feel in life. When the body moves well, it feels well! Suitable for all levels.
Restorative Yoga brings about healing and balance to the body’s systems as we tune into the subtle energies within us. With an emphasis on relaxation, these postures are held for an extended time and supported by props to feel a deep release throughout. In the stillness we become artists in the Art of doing nothing. Suitable for all levels.
This class offers a little of everything with the focus on the health of your back. Pranayama to ground you, slow deep stretching to open and relax the body, nervous system and the mind. You can expect to learn the key muscles involved in stabilizing your lower back and pelvis. This is a great class for any level of practitioner. Suitable for all levels.
